ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP

The Colby Singletary Scholarship will be awarded to 10 Collier County FHSAA Senior High School Student Athletes (5) girls and (5) boys.  Last year we were able to award $20,000 in scholarships to Collier County Student Athletes. The students must have participated in at least 2 years of one of the following sports: (Football, Baseball, Cross Country, Swimming, Golf, Volleyball, Softball, Basketball, Soccer, Wrestling, Tennis, Lacrosse, Track & Field or Cheerleading).

All applicants will be screened and chosen by the board.  The scholarship money will be given to the school of choice to cover financial needs such as tuition, books, supplies, boarding fees, etc. No part of such funds shall be beneficial or distributed to an Officer, Board of Directors, Children of Officers, Advisors, Contributors or Fund Managers.  Checks for each scholarship awarded will be paid directly to the college or  institution (Trade, Technical or Educational); the check will NOT be paid to individuals.

Some of the qualifications include:
1. 2.5 GPA
2. Must have participated in at least 2 years of one of the following sports: (Football, Baseball, Cross Country, Swimming, Golf, Volleyball, Softball, Basketball, Soccer, Wrestling, Tennis, Lacrosse, Track & Field or Cheerleading).
3. Name of College, Trade School or Institution with a copy of the letter of admission or proof of current enrollment must be presented before any funds are distributed.
4.  A 250 word essay. Please write an essay answering the questions: (1. Describe how the lessons you have learned through playing sports have positively impacted you as you pursue your college education.) (2. Describe an attribute, quality or skill that distinguishes you from everyone else and how you developed this attribute, quality or skill.)
5. Applicants after the deadline will not be accepted. Scholarship deadline is June 1, 2024.
